Probably the only time that I really take any notice of my body is when it isn’t functioning like it should.
Fewer problems can feel more pressing and life-dominating than a toothache, a sore back, an eye infection, a migraine, stubborn constipation, or ongoing heart palpitations.
For many of us, our body almost always does as it was designed to do, with barely any intervention from us. The body is a beautifully complex amalgam of systems, one that allows us to enjoy God’s good world.

So we thank God, together with Job:
Your hands have made me and fashioned me, an intricate unity (10:8).
I am thankful for legs with which to walk and run,
eyes for seeing,
lungs for breathing,
a tongue for tasting,
and a digestive tract for handling all the tasty foods that I am allowed to eat.
I am grateful to God for blood that clots,
a mind that remembers,
and a nose that smells.
I thank God for my body and how it works.
